Certicom to be Acquired by VeriSign

VeriSign and Certicom announced today that they have reached a definitive agreement where VeriSign will acquire Certicom for CA$2.10 per share in cash.
This agreement was reached just days after Research in Motion withdrew its unsolicited offer of CA$1.50 per share in cash because of an Ontario Superior Court order granting Certicom's request for a permanent injunction preventing the takeover.
The merger is expected to close in March 2009.
